Genesis - ఆదికాండము 37
1. యాకోబు తన తండ్రి పరదేశవాసిగ ఉండిన కనాను దేశములో నివసించెను.
1. And Jacob dwelt in the land wherein his father was a stranger, in the land of Canaan.
2. యాకోబువంశావళి యిది. యోసేపు పదునేడేండ్లవాడై తన సహో దరులతో కూడ మందను మేపుచుండెను. అతడు చిన్నవాడై తన తండ్రి భార్యలైన బిల్హా కుమారుల యొద్దను జిల్పా కుమారుల యొద్దను ఉండెను. అప్పుడు యోసేపు వారి చెడుతనమును గూర్చిన సమాచారము వారి తండ్రియొద్దకు తెచ్చుచుండు వాడు.
2. These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brethren; and the lad was with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives. And Joseph brought unto his father an evil report about them.
3. మరియు యోసేపు ఇశ్రాయేలు వృద్ధాప్యమందు పుట్టిన కుమారుడు గనుక తన కుమారులందరికంటె ఎక్కు వగా అతని ప్రేమించి అతనికొరకు విచిత్రమైన నిలువు టంగీ కుట్టించెను.
3. Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age; and he made him a coat of many colors.

4. And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him and could not speak peaceably unto him.

5. And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it to his brethren; and they hated him yet the more.

6. And he said unto them, "Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed:
7. అదేమనగా మనము చేనిలో పనలు కట్టుచుంటిమి; నా పన లేచినిలుచుండగా మీ పనలు నా పనను చుట్టుకొని నా పనకు సాష్టాంగపడెనని చెప్పెను.
7. For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and lo, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf."
8. అందుకతని సహోదరులు నీవు నిశ్చయముగా మమ్ము నేలెదవా? మామీద నీవు అధి కారి వగుదువా అని అతనితో చెప్పి, అతని కలలనుబట్టియు అతని మాటలనుబట్టియు అతనిమీద మరింత పగపట్ట
8. And his brethren said to him, "Shalt thou indeed reign over us? Or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us?" And they hated him yet the more for his dreams and for his words.

11. And his brethren envied him, but his father observed the saying.

13. And Israel said unto Joseph, "Do not thy brethren feed the flock in Shechem? Come, and I will send thee unto them." And he said to him, "Here am I."

14. And he said to him, "Go, I pray thee, see whether it be well with thy brethren and well with the flocks, and bring me word again." So he sent him out of the Vale of Hebron, and he came to Shechem.

15. And a certain man found him, and behold, he was wandering in the field; and the man asked him, saying, "What seekest thou?"

16. And he said, "I seek my brethren. Tell me, I pray thee, where they feed their flocks."

17. And the man said, "They have departed hence, for I heard them say, `Let us go to Dothan.'" And Joseph went after his brethren, and found them in Dothan.

18. And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to slay him.

19. And they said one to another, "Behold, this dreamer cometh.
20. వీని చంపి యిక్కడనున్న ఒక గుంటలో పారవేసి, దుష్టమృగము వీని తినివేసెనని చెప్పుదము, అప్పుడు వీని కలలేమగునో చూతము రండని ఒకనితో ఒకడు మాటలాడుకొనిరి.
20. Come now therefore and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, `Some evil beast hath devoured him'; and we shall see what will become of his dreams."
21. రూబేను ఆ మాట వినిమనము వానిని చంపరాదని చెప్పి వారి చేతులలో పడకుండ అతని విడిపించెను.
21. And Reuben heard it, and he delivered him out of their hands and said, "Let us not kill him."
22. ఎట్లనగా రూబేను అతని తండ్రికి అతని నప్పగించుటకై వారి చేతులలో పడకుండ అతని విడిపింప దలచిరక్తము చిందింపకుడి; అతనికి హాని ఏమియు చేయక అడవిలోనున్న యీ గుంటలో అతని పడద్రోయుడని వారితో చెప్పెను.
22. And Reuben said unto them, "Shed no blood, but cast him into this pit that is in the wilderness, and lay no hand upon him" -- that he might rid him out of their hands to deliver him to his father again.
23. యోసేపు తన సహోదరుల యొద్దకు వచ్చినప్పుడు వారు యోసేపు అంగీని అతడు తొడుగుకొని యుండిన ఆ విచిత్రమైన నిలువుటంగీని తీసివేసి,
23. And it came to pass, when Joseph had come unto his brethren, that they stripped Joseph of his coat, his coat of many colors that was on him;
24. అతని పట్టుకొని ఆ గుంటలో పడద్రోసిరి. ఆ గుంట వట్టిది అందులో నీళ్లులేవు.
24. and they took him and cast him into a pit. And the pit was empty; there was no water in it.
25. వారు భోజనముచేయ కూర్చుండి, కన్నులెత్తి చూడగా ఐగుప్తునకు తీసికొని పోవుటకు గుగ్గిలము మస్తకియు బోళ మును మోయుచున్న ఒంటెలతో ఇష్మాయేలీయులైన మార్గస్థులు గిలాదునుండి వచ్చుచుండిరి.
25. And they sat down to eat bread; and they lifted up their eyes and looked, and behold, a company of Ishmaelites came from Gilead with their camels, bearing spices and balm and myrrh, going to carry them down to Egypt.
26. అప్పుడు యూదా మనము మన సహోదరుని చంపి వాని మరణ మును దాచి పెట్టినందువలన ఏమి ప్రయో జనము?
26. And Judah said unto his brethren, "What profit is it if we slay our brother and conceal his blood?
27. ఈ ఇష్మాయేలీయులకు వానిని అమ్మి వేయుదము రండి; వాడు మన సహోదరుడు మన రక్త సంబంధిగదా? వానికి హాని యేమియు చేయరాదని తన సహోదరులతో చెప్పెను. అందుకతని సహోద రులు సమ్మతించిరి.
27. Come, and let us sell him to the Ishmaelites, and let not our hand be upon him; for he is our brother and our flesh." And his brethren were content.

28. Then there passed by Midianite merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmaelites for twenty pieces of silver. And they brought Joseph into Egypt.
29. రూబేను ఆ గుంటకు తిరిగివచ్చినప్పుడు యోసేపు గుంటలో లేక పోగా అతడు తన బట్టలు చింపుకొని
29. And Reuben returned unto the pit, and behold, Joseph was not in the pit; and he rent his clothes.
30. తన సహోదరుల యొద్దకు తిరిగివెళ్లిచిన్నవాడు లేడే; అయ్యో నేనెక్క డికి పోదుననగా
30. And he returned unto his brethren and said, "The child is no more; and I, whither shall I go?"
31. వారు యోసేపు అంగీని తీసికొని, ఒకమేకపిల్లను చంపి, దాని రక్తములో ఆ అంగీముంచి
31. And they took Joseph's coat, and killed a kid from the goats, and dipped the coat in the blood.
32. ఆ విచిత్రమైన నిలువు టంగీని పంపగా వారు తండ్రియొద్దకు దానిని తెచ్చిఇది మాకు దొరికెను, ఇది నీ కుమారుని అంగీ అవునో కాదో గురుతుపట్టుమని చెప్పిరి
32. And they sent the coat of many colors, and they brought it to their father and said, "This have we found. Know now whether it be thy son's coat or not?"
33. అతడు దానిని గురుతుపట్టి ఈ అంగీ నా కుమారునిదే; దుష్ట మృగము వానిని తినివేసెను; యోసేపు నిశ్చయముగా చీల్చబడెననెను.
33. And he knew it, and said, "It is my son's coat. An evil beast hath devoured him. Joseph is without doubt rent in pieces."
34. యాకోబు తన బట్టలు చింపుకొని తన నడుమున గోనెపట్ట కట్టుకొని అనేక దినములు తన కుమారుని నిమిత్తము అంగలార్చు చుండగా
34. And Jacob rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his loins, and mourned for his son many days.
35. అతని కుమారు లందరును అతని కుమార్తె లందరును అతనిని ఓదార్చుటకు యత్నము చేసిరి; అయితే అతడు ఓదార్పు పొందనొల్లకనేను అంగలార్చుచు మృతుల లోకమునకు నా కుమారుని యొద్దకు
35. And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted, and he said, "For I will go down into the grave unto my son, mourning." Thus his father wept for him.
36. మిద్యానీయులు ఐగుప్తునకు అతని తీసికొనిపోయి, ఫరోయొక్క ఉద్యోగస్థుడును రాజ సంరక్షక సేనాధిపతియునైన పోతీఫరునకు అతనిని అమ్మి వేసిరి.
36. And the Midianites sold him into Egypt unto Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh's and captain of the guard.

33. అతడు దానిని గురుతుపట్టి ఈ అంగీ నా కుమారునిదే; దుష్ట మృగము వానిని తినివేసెను; యోసేపు నిశ్చయముగా చీల్చబడెననెను.
33. And he knew it, and said, "It is my son's coat. An evil beast hath devoured him. Joseph is without doubt rent in pieces."
34. యాకోబు తన బట్టలు చింపుకొని తన నడుమున గోనెపట్ట కట్టుకొని అనేక దినములు తన కుమారుని నిమిత్తము అంగలార్చు చుండగా
34. And Jacob rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his loins, and mourned for his son many days.
35. అతని కుమారు లందరును అతని కుమార్తె లందరును అతనిని ఓదార్చుటకు యత్నము చేసిరి; అయితే అతడు ఓదార్పు పొందనొల్లకనేను అంగలార్చుచు మృతుల లోకమునకు నా కుమారుని యొద్దకు
35. And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted, and he said, "For I will go down into the grave unto my son, mourning." Thus his father wept for him.
36. మిద్యానీయులు ఐగుప్తునకు అతని తీసికొనిపోయి, ఫరోయొక్క ఉద్యోగస్థుడును రాజ సంరక్షక సేనాధిపతియునైన పోతీఫరునకు అతనిని అమ్మి వేసిరి.
36. And the Midianites sold him into Egypt unto Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh's and captain of the guard.
